Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats
These Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats are a fun combination of two popular desserts! They mix the crunchy and sticky deliciousness of Rice Krispie Treats with the smooth sweetness of banana pudding. Ingredients
For the Rice Krispie Layer:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 bag (10 oz) small marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
For the Banana Pudding Layer:
- 1 package (3.4 oz) banana pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup sliced bananas
Optional Topping:
- Whipped cream, beaten until light and fluffy
Directions
Prepare the Rice Krispie Layer (5 minutes):
- In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
- Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the pot from the heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal.
- Use a spatula or wax paper to mix the cereal with the marshmallow mixture until well coated.
- Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or oil.
- Firmly press the Rice Krispie mixture into the prepared baking dish using a spatula or wax paper to evenly spread and flatten the mixture.
- Allow the Rice Krispie layer to cool and harden completely at room temperature.
Make the Banana Pudding Layer (3 minutes):
- In a bowl, mix the instant banana pudding powder with cold milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
- Gently fold in the sliced bananas.
Assemble and Chill (2 hours):
- Once the Rice Krispie layer has hardened, evenly spread the banana pudding mixture on top.
- Cover the baking dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the pudding layer is set. For the best texture, chill for 2 hours.
